Maurice Sendak signed vibrant lithograph from Where The Wild Things Are. Max sitting in his kingly tent and lamenting, surrounded by dozing Wild Things in the woods. In the background is a sunset. Full sheet size of 23″ x 11″, the sheet was originally printed and issued in 1971 as part of a series of favorite images selected by Sendak from his original art in the Sendak archives. Fine condition. In the book the picture is produced as double-page spreads divided in the middle and printed on two separate pages with a center crease, here the picture is printed for the first time on a single sheet of white wove paper. Boldly signed by Maurice Sendak in the lower right corner, “Maurice Sendak”.
