PAGE 34 PUBLISHED ILLUSTRATION from MISS BIANCA (THE RESCUERS), by Garth Williams

This may look like two adorable mice wearing decorative COVID masks, but this is actually a scene from The Rescuer Series. This original drawing by Garth Williams was published as page 34 from the second book of the series “Miss Bianca, A Fantasy” and is rendered in black ink on light card stock. This pair of mice are preparing a daring rescue mission to save a little girl called Patience who is kept by a wicked duchess who treats her very badly. And although the two appear to be decked out in elaborately devised Covid masks, they are actually trying to be incognito, wearing costumes of disguise! An adorable vibrant piece of original Garth Williams final artwork for MISS BIANCA. The art is signed by Garth Williams in full signature upper right “Garth Williams” and additionally signed by Garth Williams in full signature on the verso. Publishers notes appear in the margins. Presented matted, framed and glazed in a rubbed silver frame.
