The first edition, first impression of this Bloomsbury title was printed in 3 states. The first state occurred during the original print run when the book was first printed with a printing error that was quickly corrected. Estimates of the first state of the print run with the printing error are that only 500 or so of these books with this error were printed before it was quickly corrected, (although today it is believed that more than 500 were printed in the first state). The corrected print run is considered the “second state” of the first edition. The book in this listing is the ‘second state’. (The third state of the first impression was printed with adds of the prior Harry Potter titles to the rear of the book).
The book has crisp board with sharp corners, with one tiny tip bump. The binding is tight and square. The end papers one small neat owner name, otherwise are in perfect bright, and unmarked condition with no bookplates, and no bookstore stamps. The interior pages are clean, bright and flat with no writing, no stains, no bent pages, no foxing, and no age toning. A beautiful first edition book!
