The book is in exceptional unrestored condition in brown cloth with vibrant gilt embossed decor to the front and spine. The book has clean cloth with no edgewear, and the binding is very tight and square. Unlike most copies of this title which have poor/cracked bindings and loose pages, this book is tightly bound and is quite readable and not fragile. Original end papers present and are clean with no owner names and no bookplates. The internal pages are all present and overall very clean with with no stains, no foxing, no handling marks, and no bent page. Fold out map to the back of the book present. This book is in beautiul condition for a Verne book. The second book of The Steam House series, the book is in matching brown cloth with stunning vibrant gilt. The book has clean cloth with no edgewear, and the binding is tight and square. Unlike most copies of this title which have poor/cracked bindings and loose pages, this book is tightly bound and is quite readable and not fragile. The unrestored book has the original end papers present with a neat inscription dated from 1881 (year of publication), and a small adhesive stain likely from a removed bookplate. The internal pages are all present and are remarkably clean with no stains, no handling marks, no foxing and no bent pages. Fold out map to the back of the book present.
