First Edition, First Printing A very handsome near fine book in a near fine unclipped dust jacket.
The book is in near fine crisp condition with white linen boards. Oatmeal cloth in clean condition with one smudge to the rear panel, and with a black quarter cloth spine. Gilt decor to front and gilt titles to the spine. The book has sharp corners and no edgewear. The binding is tight and square. The bright rust colored end papers are in perfect condition with no owner names, no inscriptions, no book plates and no bookstore stamps. The interior pages are very clean, bright and flat with no marks, no stains, no handling marks, no writing, and no foxing but with slight bit to the outer page block. Beautiful crisp book, internally appearing as unread. Please see images.
The original first edition jacket has benefited from very slight restoration by an expert conservator and as such presents in near fine condition. The jacket has strong vibrant colors with no edgewear, no chips, no stains, no rubbing, no rips, no fading and no foxing. The dust jacket is NOT Price clipped and has a stated price of $6.95 on the inside front flap and has the requisite date code of 6903 to the bottom of the front flap. Please see detailed images.
