Geoffrey Bles, London, 1952
Stated First Edition, First Printing Near fine book with a near fine unfaded first printing dust jacket. The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader is the third book in the Narnia fantasy series after The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, and Prince Caspian.
The book is in beautiful condition with light blue cloth boards and with bright unfaded silver titles to spine. The boards have clean cloth with some of the common cloth toning/fading. The book has two slightly pushed corner tips and no edgewear. The end papers are clean with No inscriptions, No bookplates, No owner names and No bookstore stamps. The internal pages have some light foxing to the outer page block and the first few pages to the front and back of the book, otherwise the book is clean internally with no handling marks, no bent pages and no stains. Please see images.
The scarce original dust jacket has benefited from very slight restoration to the outer spine ends by an expert paper conservator and as such presents as a near fine example. The jacket has strong vibrant colors with none of the otherwise typical fading to the spine which often bring the red tones to a light beige. Instead this jacket has strong vibrant colors with very slight toning to the rear panel, otherwise with no rips, no chips, no edgewear, no stains, no fading, and no rubbing. The rear panel has slight creasing visible in the images. A stunning dust jacket in hard to locate condition! Please see detailed images.
A handsome example of this very scarce title in collectible condition. Would be perfect for the collector of this classic series!
