Macmillan and Co, London, 1881
First edition, Later 1881 Printing A very clean, early printing hardcover with beautiful original red cloth covered boards, and the original end papers.
A very Good hardcover with the original red cloth covered boards with some slight mottling and discoloration (please see images for details). All Edges in full gilt. Original tissue guard present. The book still has the original end papers, with no owner names and no inscriptions. The spine was rebacked with the original cloth lay back down, as such the binding is tight and square and quite readable. The interior pages are remarkably clean as this title is usually found well-loved and with stains or heavy handling marks and foxing. Instead this copy is quite clean with but a few scattered pages with very light faded marks.
A lovely early copy in the rare original boards. All pages and illustrations are present with a tight readable binding. Include a stunning 50 illustrations by John Tenniel
