Methuen & Co., Ltd., 1912
First Edition, First Printing, Second State A scarce title in handsome near fine condition. First Edition, First Printing in the second state (publisher’s catalog, dated Spring 1915).
There has been a rapid uptick in the level of interest about lycanthropes — otherwise known as werewolves — in recent years. Most experts in the field agree that Elliott O’Donnell’s encyclopedic study of werewolves remains one of the best resources on the subject
The book is in near fine condition with vibrant red boards. Bright gilt titles to the front and slightly oxidized gilt titles to the spine. The binding is tight and square. The book has sharp corners with one tiny tip bump and no edgewear. The end papers have no owner names, bookplates, and no inscriptions. The interior pages are overall clean with foxing to the outer page block and some light scattered foxing to the internal pages. Otherwise, no marks, no stains, and no writing. The book has the requisite publisher’s catalog, this one in the second state dated Spring of 1915. Beautiful readable book with a tight binding and stunning boards. Please see images.
Lacking the very exceedingly scarce original dust jacket.
A very handsome copy of a rare title. Presents beautifully on the shelf.
